Juicing

Tea is not my thing. Aaron ("Fungi") informed me, though, that mint leaves juiced into fresh apples tastes great. Kyle, while happily munching on his noodles, suddenly says, "You juice bath water!?!" "No, Kyle," I reply, "but if you want your can." And people that I had bad hearing.....

Early Rise

Since coming to Fountainview, i have started to do many things that i never thought i would ever do. For one, enjoy exercising. Two, get up early for more than one day in a row. Now that we are on tour,we always get up early, but there is no time to exercise--if your normal. Sarah Miller and I don't seem to be normal because this morning i got up an hour and a half before required just to do the Firm. And were did we go it? In the guys bathroom next to a urinal.  Yes, i know it wasn't very sanitary, but when i wake up at 5 am, anything goes.

Frost Flakes

I just love teachers that let you be spontaneous! When we woke up this morning, there was this beautiful frost everywhere. So during english class Julie and I went out to take a few pictures.

My beautiful friend Julie K.

In the distance you can see Mount Askom

+ - Stick

Yesterday, we had a day tour to Penticton. Since it was a four hour drive both ways, we ate our lunch and supper on the bus. I was sitting next to Way Anne. When the carrot sticks came, i was like, "Man these things are huge!" Way Anne replies, "Yeah, like bread sticks. Minus the bread, and plus the carrot." I just love her :)

Falling

Before Time

I just love the ocean! Up until i came to Fountainview, i had never been to the Pacific, though. I was severely disappointed for many reasons. For one, the water isn't warm, there aren't many animals, and finally (the most disappointing) there are no sharks teeth on the beaches. Trust me, i looked.

From this thought, i was considering how evolutionists view predator prey relationships. Now in days, sharks are viewed as some of the biggest predators in the ocean. Hands down the most scary. So "60 billion years ago, before mammals had developed" who were the predators? Well well, let me tell you my little incompetent infidel (hehe), the way i see it is the biggest small thing was the big thing back then. You can just see it in your mind's eye, "I'm hungry. I think i'll go hunting," says the ameba. As it prowls through the liquid of the pre-developed world, all the tiny water molecules begin to get nervous. As the ameba grows closer, the mommy molecules herd all their little babies into clusters. Tiny, high pitched screams ripple the water as the ameba snatches and stuffs one after another of these tiny morsels into it's hungry non-existent belly.

So, that my friends is how predators used to look. Now, you and i are at the top of this food chain. Water molecules go down the chute without a second thought. (But hey, if you could hear them screaming would you still drink them?)

Thankfully, we know that that's not the way things used to be. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.. and all that in them is and rested on the seventh day and blessed it." This is the true way of living, and i'm so thankful that we came out on top!

Life...

Ah today we have a tour! fun fun :) but i'm like sooo sore! yesterday in PE class Megan had us do a bazillion leg and ab exercises so now i can't walk down stairs without my knees buckling. Not surprisingly, some ppls put up a fight while we were in PE class. Megan said, "Ok lets go outside and do our running." One person relied, "I refuse." Megan says, "Nope, you don't. Your going." They responded, "You can't refuse my refusal." Megan says, "Oh really? (i can see her wheels turning and thinking oh no you didn't...) Unfortunately, i didn't get to see what Megan would dole out as a punishment (if the person didn't comply) because it was raining and we couldn't run... :( Highlight of my day? Definitely.

Runing

Running-ugh. Today is PE testing. You run for 12 minutes as fast as you can. Last time we were supposed to do it, it snowed. (thank goodness) but now that day has come back to bite me. It's cold and dreary outside and i have a splitting head ache. Pain in the butt ache that dosn't go away. Too much to do, to much to think about, to little sleep.  Can't wait till i'm home.

day in and day out...

Morning: wake up, get shower, get ready, finish homework, scramble through morning till lunch. Stress through afternoon and fight off sleep. Stagger through orchestra, then mope along in study hall. Repeat next day. Devotionals are constantly running through your brain mixed with math equations (quadratic formula, fractions, and other stuff.) My brain is fried, i try to sleep more but i cant. My foot has a rash that itches like crazy, and people everywhere! no place to stop, no place for quiet. Oh cali tour, come soon!!! I NEED YOU!

Seasons Of Change

here in British columbia, the snow has just begun to fall. It is soo beautiful! I can still remember the first day i arrived. I thought it was downright ugly. i mean, seriously? no deciduous trees!?! as the days and months went by, i have found i enjoy this place more and more. Yeah i still miss my east coast home, but i will always love the years i spent in beautiful british columbia.

Another Poem

Parts of the Past

In the land of the Emerald Isle,
Lived a discreet little group out about one mile.
Those Druids circled round in families so tight
Teaching the children the ways of the night

They all came together every once in awhile
To celebrate their ancestry and drink from the vile.
On that green hill, a circle of rocks to honor the Sun
Stood the high priestess; the Ceremony was done.

Encircled from view by a protective shield
The invisible land holds powers to wield
Like Avalon, it’s held and sheltered from view
But only to keep others from drinking the dew.

Long before the Catholic came to their land,
Their ways were establish and perfected by hand.
Run out of that green land, then wiped off the Earth,
They were thought to be dead, but never stopped was their birth.

In this day, no more do their rituals perform
For throughout the nations these people now conform.
Blended into society they come and go,
But on some days remember their ancestor’s foe.

In me now, I have found I am one
A descendent of those people I know I should shun.
My family is Christian and on that path I will stay.
I am part of the past but their memory in me is hazy gray

Poem inspired by Christian

(note) Christian hates the Confederates and the South. I'm from the south :)

Banners and Flags

In them days, there were battles between North an’ South
Each raged in heated fury to make their point known
On each side, they fought for the cause they sought to win
Rebellion was in full sway as they battled.

“Rebels” to the side of General Robert E. Lee,
To set standards for all states governing freedom.
They di’nt want to be linked to a place so fickle.
Wanted the choice to be what they were goin’a be.

With ‘ol Lincoln as leader, the North rallied up
They joined in an oath to keep their nation as one.
They would fight their own brothers rather than to lose,
‘Cause what North’erns begin, they will see it finish.

What began as a squabble over a few laws,
Turned into a war based on way different reasons.
For one the South wasn’t going to give up her slaves,
But the North was steadfast to stay as one country.

Both reasons were selfish and not very well founded.
The one to stay big and the other to remain strong.
At different poles of the same continent they lived,
With different flags to guide their armies to battle.
One mostly of stripes, the other both stars and bars.

It’s said they fought boldly with purpose “under God,”
But who’s to say that God was with either those days?
They said, “We’re fightin’ for what we believe is right.”
But killing each other had never been in plan.
Oh, if only we were all joined under one flag.

If folks were lovin’ and kind to friends and neighbors
Disagreements could be settled with “I’m sorry.”
No one would be upset by what others believe.
Under God’s Banner, love could bind us together.
